3 Deputies Injured During Shootout With Suspect During Standoff

LOST NATION, IL – Shaw Local News Network has confirmed that several Ogle County officers have been shot at a Lost Nation home, according to a source close to the investigation.

Multiple medical helicopters and law enforcement responded to the Lost Nation home in the 400 block of Wild Rice Lane early Wednesday afternoon.

Lee County Board Chairman Bob Olson said three deputies were shot; all are in hospital and are expected to recover. Olson said a suspect barricaded himself in the home, a gunfight occurred and the suspect was shot and is in the hospital.

According to a reporter on the scene, the response included personnel from the city and county fire departments of Dixon, Oregon, Mount Morris and Polo, as well as a crime scene investigator. Lost Nation is an unincorporated area northeast of Dixon in Ogle County.
