National Night Out with the West Plains Police Department

West Plains, MO. – The West Plains Police Department recently announced the date, time and location for their participation in the annual National Night Out.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to help you feel safer in your neighborhood. This is sponsored nationally by NATW, ADT, Starbucks, Associa, LEAD, and co-sponsored locally by the City of West Plains. Neighborhoods in West Plains are invited to join more than 38 million neighborhoods in 18,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases around the world.

Neighbors in West Plains are being asked to lock their doors, turn on their porch lights and spend the evening outside with law enforcement and neighbors. Most communities also host block parties, festivals, parades, cooking classes, and other various community events that include safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, emergency service visits, exhibits, and more.

On August 6, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the West Plains Police Department will be available at Lincoln School-West Plains for National Nights Out. If individuals would like to organize their event, please complete a form, which is also available from the police. The form is not required to host an event, but it does help the department find events to participate in.
