At O’Sullivan Lake Lodge, we are past masters in black bear hunting. To ensure a successful hunt, all our sites are baited and monitored on a regular basis. Our observation towers will give you a panoramic view of the area so you can easily spot the coveted animal.
Whether you are a seasoned or novice hunter, and regardless of your chosen plan (American or European), at O’Sullivan you can count on expert guide, skinning and freezing services.
Plan 1. “The Adventurer” (European plan): Personal stand strategically located for your hunt, site baited and electronically monitored, six-day hunt, fully equipped cabin, boat and fishing rights.
Plan 2. “The Incredible” (American plan): Personal stand strategically located for your hunt, site baited and electronically monitored site, six-day hunt, fully equipped cabin, home cooked meals, boat, motor oil, gas and fishing rights.
World-class hunts
Whether you prefer archery or gun hunting, your stay with us will be unforgettable.
Some hunting areas have tree stands, however most hunts are done from ground level caches surrounding muskegs, swamps or small marshes. It is possible to hunt from the main Lodge or from
an outpost camp. Access to the different hunting areas may be by boat, vehicle or walking.
Hunting season starts in mid-September and ends in mid-October. In order to maintain an abundance
of game, you are allowed one animal per two hunters, based on the management plan in force:
- 2013: Bull, cow and calf
- 2014: Bull and calf
- 2015: Bull, cow and calf
We offer a variety of hunting packages and accommodations to make your stay exciting
and enjoyable.
Plan 1. “The Optimist” (European plan): Personal and exclusive hunting territory, six-day hunt, fully equipped cabin and boat.
Plan 2. “The Carefree” (American plan) : Personal and exclusive hunting territory, six-day hunt, guide, moose quartered and hung, fully equipped cabin, home cooked meals, boat, motor oil and gas.
Plan 3. “The Rebel” (European plan) : Personal and exclusive hunting territory, six-day hunt and outpost camp or remote camping (recommended for four hunters).

Treat yourself
Whether your predilection is ruffled and spruce grouse or hare, your hunt will be fruitful.
Enjoy a leisurely walk in a beautiful setting, taking myriad trails through underbrush teeming
with small game.
The hunting season for hare, spruce and ruffled grouse starts in mid-September and ends at the seasonal closing of the Lodge.
